Becoming a Ski Patroller is a demanding challenge. It requires both time and dedication. The first year is very intense, but pays dividends in the end!
Our team of talented instructors will guide you through the National Ski Patrol Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC) and Outdoor Emergency Transportation (OET) Programs, no previous medical experience is needed
Our training schedule typically begins in May/June and consists of online and inperson classes on OEC. Hands-On Skills sessions begin in early fall and a written knowledge test takes place in November
All our On-Hill Candidate Training takes place on Saturday and Sunday Mornings at the mountain. Candidates will be progressed through a series of scenarios on both First Aid (OEC) and Ski & Toboggan Skills. A practical OEC Test is typically held in Late January
As a candidate and eventually a patroller, we operate as volunteers and require a minimum shift requirement. Typically, we will work 1 weeknight shift (5p-close) and 1 weekend shift (6hr). We allow for flexibility and require 1 weekend shift credit for every week the mountain operates. Weeknight assignments are static
Membership to our organization comes with MANY perks, the best being free skiing, and FIRST TRACKS!.
